Characterized by elaborate ornamentation and virtuosic display, the early Baroque style originated in Italy around 1580-1600 and spread throughout Europe, influencing the course of western music. Journey back in time with this chamber program performed by MBE’s bold and expressive musicians and featuring the vibrant works by Uccellini, Marini, Merula, Caldara, and Barbara Strozzi.
